Transformers Custom: Autobot Blades

I just had to showcase this wonderfully amazing custom kitbash done by a Hong Kong TF fan. Using the voyager class TF Movie Blackout toy together with some Gundam bits and pieces, he managed to totally transform Blackout into Blades!

Check out the revamped nose together with the side bits that can transform into cannons for the bot mode.

Comparison shot between Blades and Blackout in 'copter mode.

The friggin' jaw-dropping bot mode! Just breath-taking!

Ready to strike!

Close-up of Blade's head (an ex-Classics TF Rodimus Prime head that is!)

Full-attack mode with custom visors on.

Dual cannons combine with back-pack to form ultimate weapon thingy! Heh.

Striking a pose. Duh!

Final comparison shot of Blades and Blackout in bot mode.

Now I'm seriously itching to get back into 'em Gundam model kits and kitbash me one of these! (quite honestly speaking, I don't have any patience at all to fix up a kit now that I'm older... neither do I have the necessary talents to do it up so nicely. Mine will probably end up frustratingly into the garbage bin!)

TRANSFORMERS - The Movie 2007

Finally caught the Transformers Movie and I've gotta say, my wife and I were blown away by the action-packed scenes! M. Bay sure loves to blow things up! The scene where Optimus and gang appear for the first time just gave me goose-bumps! The movie's just awesome! Catch it if you've not done so already! (Oh, reading the prequel comic would better explain why Bumblebee doesn't talk much)

Robo-Vision Optimus Prime

Oooooooh...... found me a voyager Optimus Prime at long last! Not just any voyager... this is a "limited edition" one! (Limited? Limited... everything's bl**dy "limited" these days. "Limited" to 1 billion trillion million pieces! Sorry, the word's just being used too loosely) But anyways, this is one awesome figure that I'm keeping MISB. This bot looks more like the Optimus shown on screen than the Leader class version as it has less "kibble" (did I spell it right?) hanging around the back and isn't as "boxy" in appearance. The packaging is great as the whole box/container is clear plastic and thus allows storing and displaying this figure to be easier. We get a window right at the top of the box to allow light in and get that cool glowing effect on Optimus' eyes. Cool! (It's all sold out at Target)

Now all I want is the regular voyager versions of Prime and Megs... I don't think they're bringing em over here tho. Bah. Hasbro Australia... do something!
Transformers 2007 Movie Toys

It's amazing how fast the new movie toyline figures are flying off the shelves. I've got to admit that I wasn't really interested in em at all... initially, that is. But having seen the trailers and all that, it kinda got me hooked on the toys... especially so when my wife bought me Optimus...... argh, I was soooo hooked and there's no turning back ever since!

Bumblebee's one great figure to get. The first version of BB (first lot of photos right at the top) didn't really make much of an impression when I saw the toy in its carded packaging (it was in car mode). My impression changed when I caught a glimpse of the BB & Barricade "First Encounter" movie giftset that showed both bots in robot mode. I seriously liked what I saw and having gotten BB at the local Big-W recently (the giftset's all sold out... DANG!), I'm more than impressed with the figure.

The '08 Camaro version of BB seriously rocks! It's got heaps of articulation (check out the photos directly above). Both modes closely reflect the BB bot as seen on the big screen and adverts (not that I've caught the movie yet... work's just been too hectic!) and the car mode is just so dang sweet! This bot is now officially VHTF and the last time I'd checked on ebay, it's going for US80 bucks or more!!! It's far better than the first BB as we get clear windows on this bot (the Takaratomy version of first BB gets clear windows tho... I would get it if only it was cheaper! Why didn't hasbro just release the same thing?? Argh!).

Next, we've got good ole Jazz! This is my favorite bot from the lot. I love Jazz as he was my first official Transformer that I'd purchased as a kid with my own pocket money. Those were the days... 8 bucks for a Gen1 Jazz from a Seven-Eleven store (that was considered rather expensive then... had to save for weeks!). But anyways... this movie version of Jazz is just bl**dy cool! I mean just check out the pictures above. I love the car mode (too lazy to transform him so you can do a search on google if you like. Ha) but I especially love the bot mode. My only gripe? The arms... articulation is limited as we miss out on ball-joints and the forearms are 2 empty halves that don't fit (they're designed not to). Anyhow, this is one freeeekin' sexy bot! Get it if you can find it... Jazz, like all other movie bots 'cept for poor ole Rachet, are currently sold out.

Here's a pic of my 2007 movie bots collection this far... I want voyager Megatron and Prime!!!
