Shopping for toys abroad: Singapore
Shopping for your toy collection is tough in the land of Oz... we don't get everything that's released elsewhere (probably due to the fact that we're located down under and folks here aren't that into toys). Shipping can get quite costly too. Which is a pain. The folks in the US and Asia have got it made.

I love popping by Singapore for toys as the airfare is reasonable (now with the new budget carrier, Tiger Airlines, it's even better!). The variety for shopping over there is just phenomenal! There's almost always a sale going on and there are heaps of independent speciality toy stores AND the departmental stores are almost always stocked to the brim with newly released stuff that even the US or Japan have yet to receive.

Furthermore, prices are cheap (which is the main attraction) as stores are always competing with each other for customers. Discounts galore! Here are a couple of pictures I'd taken of the toy-scene over there. There's even a "flea market" held every Sunday for toy collectors to gather and sell/trade stuff. It's not really a flea market but a shopping centre filled with independent toy stores (where you can haggle for better prices).
